Warren World for the past two months

So, I have neglected bloggerworld for probably over a year.  I am gearing up to paying more attention to it.  Mainly to document our lives since I have not scrapbooked or anything for way too long.  I have been horrible at taking pictures and I am on pledging a fresh start.  So, here's to a quick catch up of March and April. 

March brought a few exciting things to our world.  One, was the Hunger Games movie.  Norm, Mylee and Cole were anxiously awaiting the release.  Cole was able to go to a pre-screening the day before it was released with FBLA. He made sure we were all aware that he saw it before any of us!  Cole had an orchestra concert and Maddy went to the Jazz game with Grandpa.  Cole had a FBLA competition in Layton that he got to stay two nights in a hotel.  That was a little weird for me as a Mom.  He had a great time, ate lots of food and went to two movies.  We headed up to Idaho for General Conference.  It was Omie's birthday on that Saturday and Becca's birthday had been a few days before.  As usual, we had a great time.  It is always relaxing there.  We just spent time together and played games and watched conference.

April began with quite an out of sorts week.  Mylee and Norm left the kids in Idaho Sunday morning and drove home listening to the morning session of conference.  The kids (and Mylee) had the whole week off for Spring Break.  Norm left that Monday morning to go out of town for work.  Lindsay had her baby on the 4th so I spent some time over with Ryder and Ruby.  Mom and I made a whole bunch of freezer meals one night.  Mom and I also went to the dollar movie one night to see "We Bought a Zoo"  We really liked it.  It was a really neat story. We went expecting it to be a kid show and we ended up really enjoying it.  I spent some time at the hospital holding little Rydge and visiting with Lindsay.  The kids and Mom and I went to Lindsay's house the morning she was coming home and cleaned her house.  It worked out great because we had tons of helpers to clean and watch the kids.  We also celebrated Adrienne and Dad's birthday at Olive Garden for lunch one day.  Easter Sunday we had dinner at Lindsays.  Good ol Ham and Augratin potatoes and a delicious pork roast.  Since she had just come home from the hospital we took dinner over to their house.  Of course, that allowed us all to hold that baby again!

I got to go on a daddy daughter date to the Jazz game one night.  I had not been to a Jazz game for years and it was a highlight of my month.  It was a lot of fun!  Thanks Dad!

Norm had a big month... the big 4-0!  We had dinner on Sunday at Mom's house. He wanted a summer BBQ so we had potato salad, shrimp macaroni salad, fruit, pickle juice and soy sauce chicken.  Norm wanted a playstation 3 for his birthday.  I kept teasing him that he wasn't turning four-teen, but he was turning four-ty so why did he want a video game?  He didn't think it was nearly as funny as I did. Norm had to go out of town again do D.C. the end of the month.  He was able to spend a few extra days with Jon and his family in Virginia. 

We had a ward talent show that all three kids participated in in some way.  Cole ended up, at the last minute, turning piano music for some girls who were singing an Adele song.  Maddy and three other girls in the ward did a cute dance to a "Once There Was a Snowman" remix.  Tenley sang a darling song called "Somewhere There's a Mountain" with two other girls.  It was really fun to watch them all perform.  It was a proud moment for momma!

Maddy started playing softball on a team coached by Grandpa!  It is fantastic.  She loves having him be the coach.  It's been fun to watch her learn to play and have fun with the other girls.

Whew... I didn't think we had that much going on but that was a lot.  Life just continues to get busier.  We are all counting down how many days of school.  We are all ready for summer break!

Happy Easter Basket :)

Coloring eggs!  Every time we'd try to get her to say "Happy Easter!" it would come out "Happy Easter Basket or Bunny!"  I guess it's hard to teach a two year old the real concept of Easter, we are working on it...  B loved every seond of this experience, including wearing her apron!  This happy picture was taken just moments after an entire mug of pink egg dye was spilled on my upholstered kitchen chair.  Thank goodness for cheap egg dye, so the pink was quite weak in color.  Also, thanks to Tanner's incredible car detailing skills he was able to clean the chair which now looks brand new.  Note to self for next table: no upholstered chairs with small children.

Patiently, sort of, awaiting the eggs to be colored.  This was the hardest part- she kept wanting to stick her hands in the dye or drink it!  Her new favorite face, taken from her cousin Maddy's gaunt face :) 

All done, complete with Bridget's "bee egg", Grayson's basket ball egg, and Dad's "Easter Bunny egg".  Her new "cheese" smile includes a crooked lower jaw if you can tell.

Awaiting the neighborhood egg hunt at the park- so much fun and TONS of kids.  In the 0-3 age group no parents were allowed to go out on to the grass, so this led to the next picture...

Bridget just standing there by herself not knowing what to do....  Good thing she is still at the age she doesn't care if she got candy or not.  And she didn't cry!

We had a great Easter with some decent weather for egg hunting.  We enjoyed many activities including seeing the Easter Bunny at the Power Plant in Niagara Falls, an egg hunt at the neighborhood Assembly of God church, and a BBQ with our Bishop and his family (Archer and Rowan's dad is our Bishop).  They are a fantastic family who have helped us so much in getting settled in the area and inviting us to do some fun things!  We are so thankful for their friendship and help with the move.

The 3D turtle movie- not so sure at first, "is loud" she said, but ending up loving all the cartoon turtles.  And don't worry, there WAS an environmental agenda....

Lots of fun things going on this month, too bad we only had one great week of weather in March- guess we'll have to wait until June to go back outside.  We sure miss being around all you guys, thank goodness for skype and face time to keep us in touch.  I love that B still asks for everyone and knows all your names.  We look at family pictures (especially the calendar) A LOT!  We always want her to remember all her cousins, aunts and uncles, grandma and grandpa, even new baby Rydge :)

West Meets EAST!

Well, here's our first official update from the East Coast!  I can't believe we've almost been here a month.  Time flies, even when you are far away from family, bored some days, and lost in a new town....  We are getting better adjusted to New York, but are missing you all like CRAZY! 
The first week here was lame with only one car, I went a little stir crazy and wanted to get out.  I kept busy organizing and more unpacking, but thanks to Mylee there wasn't much to left to do!  I got to get out on my own that first weekend and explore the town.  I discovered the Niagara Falls Outlets and they are AWESOME!  The best outlet shopping I have ever been to.  Also, the local TJ Maxx, Target, and Wegmans.  Apparently there is a war here between the two local grocery stores- Tops and Wegmans.  You have to pick a side, and Wegmans is the cool choice.  Everyone we meet tells us so :) 
We are in Lewiston, which is 10 minutes north of Niagara Falls.  A very small town, but super cute with the best little center street with lots of cute shops and cool restaurants.  The Niagara River is really close to our house and Lake Ontario is only 15 minutes north of us, too.  We've never seen a lake SO huge! 
We went to the aquarium in Niagara Falls last weekend and got a membership there since B love the fishies.  But, it is no comparison to the one in Sandy.  Old and outdated, but B still loved it.  I found a new dr. office in a town called Amherst, which is a 30 minute drive, but it is highly recommended and the hospital there is the best one close to us.  I really like the nurse practioner I met with, and will get to meet all 5 drs before I deliver. 
The bishop's wife here has been so nice and invited me to do all sorts of things- story time at the library every Tuesday in Youngstown (smaller town just 5 minutes north) with lunch at the diner after, play dates at her house (she lives 20 minutes away right on Lake Ontario), and institute during the day.  I'm so glad that I have at least one friend to do things with!  She has been very helpful telling us about the area, places to go and things to do.  I have just decided that to do things here, I have to drive around 15-20 minutes to get to any where.  Not too bad, but such a difference from Logan!
We also discovered the Lewiston library, which is pretty nice.  They have a great children's section which B loved.  Our first time there we almost had to buy a book.  I was filling out paper work for a card and she was reading a book.  She disappeared for 15 seconds, came back and was rattling on about "book, potty, uh-oh!"  I had no idea what she was talking about, and later went back with her to find the book.  When I asked where she put the book she was reading, she grabbed my hand and led me to the bathroom.  She had thrown it in the toilet!  That is not "uh-oh" when we do it on purpose, we are still learning that concept....  Thankfully the librarian was really nice and didn't make us pay for it, we dried it off and she took it back.  How embarassing...
Tanner and I did get to go out while Mylee was here to a new Lewiston restaurant!  It was fantastic!  We also went out last weekend to a movie and dinner while a girl in the ward watched B.  She did a great job and when we went to pick her up Bridget didn't want to leave!  That's what I call a babysitter :)

Warren Family Feats from February

First of all,  Thank you Lauren!  Thanks, for setting this up.  I hope it works out as a great way to keep in touch, stay close and feel like we are all only 15 miles apart not thousands!  Especially with all these new babies and exciting things happening we all want to feel close!  I am excited to do this because it will at least help me blog once a month!

In February there were a few things going on for us.  Mylee and Maddy had New Beginnings where we learned about the new theme "Arise and Shine Forth". Maddy had to share the Beehive class statement. I had to give a talk about Personal Progress and the girls sang an amazing song... called "Arise and Shine Forth".  Maddy had her choir concert that Grandma and Grandpa came to.  They sang a Japanese song and "I Hope You Dance".  The kids loved getting to Skype me when I was in New York with Lauren and Tanner.  My favorite moment of the month was when we were Skyping and I turned the camera around to the back of the Ipad and was walking around Lauren's house giving them a tour.  As I was walking around and showing them the house I noticed the kids making all these crazy faces.  Since the camera was turned around they couldn't see me anymore so they ass-umed that I couldn't see them.  I stopped and said, "You know I can see you, right?!?"  They looked a little shocked and said "NO" and were quite embarrassed.  I found it ha-larious!  It was a feat in and of it self!

oh, p.s. Tenley wants me to notify you that she has her own blog.  She hasn't posted on it since last August (but I can't say much because I haven't posted on mine for that long either)  She wants to start posting and so do I so you will have to check hers out!
